“The objective of this meeting was to deepen an agenda of dialogue and productive cooperation in strategic sectors, always under the framework of respect for sovereignty, diplomacy and for the mutual benefit of our Peoples,” said the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil.

He emphasized that “Venezuela reiterates its firm commitment to establishing diplomatic and commercial relations with all nations of the world.”

This was stated by Gil, at the end of the meeting between the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, with the Heads of Mission of the Member Countries of the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom and the Swiss Confederation accredited in Venezuela.

In the post on his account on the social network Telegram, the chancellor attached a video.

He noted that it was an intense meeting in which opinions were exchanged between the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez and the aforementioned international officials, as well as the president of the National Assembly (AN); Jorge Rodríguez and the Sectorial Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.

Gil said that “the tenor of the meeting was pleasant, coinciding with the need to move towards a stage of productive relationship and to open up deeper avenues of dialogue.”

“We have reviewed trade relations in productive, science and technology, economic and other areas in which European companies have been based in our country for a long time,” he stressed.

He also stated that “an assessment was made of the events that occurred on January 3, 2026, where, when international law, sovereignty and the UN Charter were violated, our people were attacked and the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores, were kidnapped.”

He also said that “starting today, a phase of dialogue, construction and cooperation begins in all spheres and for the benefit of our people.”
