As confirmed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, on the night of this Thursday, February 20, the CONVIASA flight arrived in the country with 177 Venezuelans who were being held at the United States military base in Guantánamo.

“Venezuela welcomes its children with open arms!” , were the words of the Vice President of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, who was at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state.

The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, also announced that, as happened with the two flights received from Venezuelans from the United States, returnees will be approached by a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

“The return of these Venezuelans is possible thanks to negotiations, negotiations that can only take place between governments, in this case the Government of the United States and the Government of Venezuela,” he said.
