Since July 25, 1992, women from 32 Latin American countries have been meeting and recognizing themselves as people of African descent, this has emerged as a planned event to confront racism from a gender perspective, declaring itself as the International Day for Women of African Descent.
This celebration aims to strengthen the fight against racism, eliminate prejudice and social discrimination, recognize the achievements, values, culture and nourished wisdom of Afro-descendant women in society.
Afro-descendant women in Venezuela carry in their existence the strength of two historical struggles that lead to the same one; the struggle for equality and social justice.
Thanks to the Bolivarian Revolution, Venezuelan women are vindicated and assume a leading role in the country's development.
