More than 2,000 patients, residents of the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, have undergone free cataract surgery through the Municipal Surgical Plan, said the mayor of the jurisdiction, José Vicente Rangel Ávalos.
In statements collected by the newspaper, Úlmas Noticias, he said that the interventions have been carried out at the facilities of the Sucre Health Specialty Center, located on the ground floor of the Giorgio Building, headquarters of the mayor's office.
This space has an operating room, as well as high-tech equipment for examinations prior to the intervention required by the patient.
The authorities recalled that all those people, residents of the Sucre municipality who require these interventions, can contact their street manager or community spokespersons. They will be the ones who will register them and send the information to the health center to plan the intervention.
