2025 Municipal National Sports Games inaugurated in Los Andes

More than 6,000 athletes from all states of the country will participate in the 2025 Municipal National Sports Games, which opened this Sunday and will take place in the states of Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo.

During the inauguration of this sports event, the governor of Mérida, Arnaldo Sánchez, recalled that this competition, which brings together athletes from all over the country, was held for the first time in 2018 under the instruction of President Nicolás Maduro.

Sánchez also welcomed all the participants and urged them to enjoy the beauty and hospitality that only Andean lands can offer. “We want to welcome, with open arms, the athletes who arrive today in these blessed lands,” he emphasized.

For his part, the Minister for Communes, Social Movements and Urban Agriculture, Ángel Prado, welcomed the participation of Venezuelan athletes in this competition and said he was “sure that the more than 6,000 young people selected to participate in this competition, on a day not too distant, will go to international competitions and bring good medals for our beloved Venezuela”.

In this regard, he highlighted the dedication of these community athletes and how, in 2025, significant progress was made in recovering spaces for sports practices through the execution of community projects.
