3 CORPOELEC workers arrested for the theft of strategic material

Three workers from the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) in Sucre state were arrested for their connection to the theft of strategic material
The detainees, according to a press release from CORPOELEC, go by the names of Pedro Jesús Noguera, Luis Eduardo Mata and Joan Carlos Benítez, the latter working as linemen in the state power company.
During the procedure, members of the Urban Security Detachment (DESUR) seized 98.30 kilograms of 500 mcm conductor (large caliber, high-strength electrical cable) that would have been moved and hidden in a block located on the outskirts of Cumaná.
The competent bodies are keeping investigations open to determine other possible perpetrators of the acts against the National Electricity System (SEN).
