A total of 43 ophthalmic patients from the state of Trujillo benefited from cataract surgery, the Venezuelan Social Security Institute (IVSS) reported through its Telegram channel.

The operations were performed at the Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo University Hospital, located in the Valera municipality of that entity, as part of the second phase of the National Surgical Plan for Ophthalmology.

“Through this program, 90 patients have already been treated in two phases. This joint effort reflects the commitment of the government and the National Public Health System to guarantee access to quality services for citizens, especially the most vulnerable,” said the IVSS.
