From the spaces of the Karicuao Karibe Industrial Ecological Park, last Saturday, June 20, the 5th edition of “Graffiti Caracas” was held, a space that brought together 18 visual artists and 12 rappers from Aragua, Carabobo, Lara and Miranda.
Beiker Sánchez, organizer of the event, highlighted that this initiative, born in 2022, seeks to project urban art to its fullest and to break down the prejudices that stigmatize it. He also emphasized that this edition was consolidated thanks to the support of brands, entrepreneurs and public and private companies, with the goal of expanding the meeting nationwide.
The meeting was accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Raúl Cazal; together with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Gabriela Simoza; and the Deputy Minister of Audiovisual Culture, Miqueas “Piki” Figueroa.
During the day, attendees were able to enjoy 3D graffiti demonstrations, a competition of sketches and presentations by the group Hdj, from the Capital District; the artists Colchito and Isay Real; and the rhythm of Tambor Beats, consolidating this space as an integral showcase for the country's urban culture.
