81st Sports Mass celebrated at the Church of La Divina Pastora in Caracas

At the Church of La Divina Pastora, located in Caracas, the 81st Sports Mass was held, as part of a Venezuelan tradition that takes place every January 6, with the objective of blessing the members of this sector and asking for a new year full of victory.

During the homily, prayers were raised for the release of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros and the First Lady, Cilia Flores.

The ceremony was sponsored by priest Fermín Gómez, who called for the people and peace of the territory.

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez; the Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, the Deputy Minister of Sports Massification, Juan Carlos Amarante, are some of the personalities who attended the event.

It also included the participation of a large number of athletes, coaches, sports managers, sponsors and sporting glories.

For his part, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Caracas, Raúl Biord Castillo, stressed that with the support of the National Government through the Ministry for Sports, as well as with the support of public and private organizations, physical activity has been promoted in parish schools and educational centers in the country.

“Sport in the country has made great progress, today there are many children, young people and adults who play sports,” he said.
