The hacker operating under the pseudonym ASTRA, one of the most renowned in terms of cybersecurity and computer crime, revealed the existence of a cyber plan against the Venezuelan electoral system, according to the news website Fuser News.

According to the publication ASTRA explained that after a cybersecurity study for the National Electoral Council (CNE) they noticed that the software had not been updated since 2022, “we began to notice that there were phantom connections, open connections from remote ports”.

As for the direct accusations of the Venezuelan Government, regarding the crime perpetrated against the CNE system, ASTRA revealed that they blocked “the port from a ghost machine that was via cable. We realized that the software works with telephone signals, which we were completely unaware of.”

“I raised the machine over two terabytes, since they were trying to ban the attack, but since the attack came from many places, we are talking about connections of more than three million, and that's what saturated them,” he said.

ASTRA confessed, in addition to its participation in the hack of the CNE, multiple cyberattacks against Venezuela, with the objective of destabilizing the government of President Nicolás Maduro, as part of the plans of the extreme opposition right ,” the portal reported.
