The emblematic co-founder of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, condemned the support of Bono, leader of the Irish band U2, for the Zionist regime of Israel and its genocide in the Gaza Strip, which counts almost 30,000 Palestinians killed.

In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, Waters called Bono “disgusting” and “shit”, after his position on the Israeli massacre in Gaza. At one of the shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas, the U2 singer remembered those killed during the Hamas attack on a music festival held in Israel on October 7, but made no mention of the thousands of Palestinians who have been killed since then and during years of Zionist occupation.

“As a result of what has happened in Israel and Gaza, it may seem ridiculous, even laughable, but our prayers have always been for peace and for non-violence,” he told the crowd before setting out to perform Pride (In The Name Of Love). “But our hearts and our anger, you know where they are pointing. So sing with us... and with those beautiful kids from that music festival,” he added.

Bono then performed the song with the lyrics altered: “Early in the morning, October 7th, the sun is rising in the desert sky... Stars of David, they took your life but they couldn't take your pride away,” he sang, instead of the original lines.

In this regard, Waters commented: “My mother told me that, faced with difficult problems, the first thing to do is read, read and read. Then the next part is easy: doing the right thing”, referring to his own family history, his father having died in World War II.

“Anyone who knows Bono should go, grab him by the ankles and shake him... until he stops being a huge piece of shit,” said the former member of Pink Floyd, noting that what the leader of U2 did in Las Vegas “was one of the most disgusting things” he has seen in his life.
