Active Rain Plan Early Warning System for citizen protection

Civil Protection evaluates strategies necessary to face natural events and assess the vulnerabilities of territories

The Deputy Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, MG. Carlos Pérez Am, reported that to minimize the negative effects of rainfall this season, the Early Warning System is active, based on forecasts from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH).

The National Director of Civil Protection, also indicated that the 2024 Rain Care Plan has the necessary strategies to face these natural events and assess the vulnerabilities of the territories.

“This Plan is a fundamental strategy to ensure the safety of the people, taking into account events at the municipal, state and national levels to implement the Major Rainfall States, made up of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, citizen security bodies and the National Risk Management System, Governorates and Mayors to deal with the effects of rainfall,” said the head of the Civil Protection portfolio.

He also reported that a total of 11 states have been georeferenced, in which this System is active and, in turn, reiterated the call to citizens to keep an eye on the warnings and alerts issued by official bodies and not to echo false information that circulates in digital media.
