ALBA-TCP and Southern African Development Community reaffirm cooperation

The executive
secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of
Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA - TCP), Rander Peña, held a meeting with Elias Mpedi Magosi, Executive Secretary of SADC, an organization that currently brings together 16 countries from southern Africa.
Through his account on the social network Telegram, Peña specified that during
the meeting, “the progress of the memorandum of understanding signed
between our organizations was reviewed and we reaffirm our mutual intention to advance political, economic and agricultural
cooperation.”
Likewise, “we
firmly convey the serious threats to peace that Latin America and the Caribbean are experiencing due to the military
deployment of the United States, and we agree on the need for South-South
solidarity, respect for sovereignty and for strengthening an
international order based on dialogue and cooperation.”
“The 16 member countries of SADC are: Angola; Botswana; Comoros; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Eswatini (formerly Swaziland); Lesotho; Madagascar; Malawi; Mauritius (Mauritius); Mozambique; Namibia; Seychelles; South Africa (South Africa); Tanzania (United Republic of); Zambia; Zimbabwe,” he wrote.
