The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), issued a statement this Saturday, November 16, in which they express their solidarity with the Peoples and governments of Central America, in the face of the passage of tropical storm Sara, especially with Honduras, where it is causing serious damage and threatening Mexico and Belize.
The statement published on social networks states that the ALBA-TCP “applauds the position of the President of the Republic of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, who has courageously taken this task personally, taking effective steps to support communities, after floods in Tegucigalpa, Tocoa, Colón, and other cities.”
“In addition, the Alliance supports all the efforts of the Honduran government to recover from this emergency and hopes for the prompt rescue of people who have disappeared due to the heavy rains and the damage caused, as a result of the climate crisis that the planet is experiencing,” he highlights.
