Here is the full statement:
The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) joins with deep revolutionary emotion and historical conviction the commemoration of January 1, 1959, a sacred date for the memory of peoples, when the Cuban Revolution opened an irreversible horizon of dignity, sovereignty and social justice for Cuba and for all of Our America.
That triumph was the work of the Centennial Generation, a conscious youth who, inspired by the ideology of José Martí, assumed the struggle as a historic duty in the face of colonial domination and imperial oppression. From the Sierra Maestra, under the immortal leadership of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, that generation ignited the emancipatory sacred fire that transcended the borders of Cuba and became an ethical and political reference for the continent's popular struggles.
Sixty-seven years later, the Cuban Revolution remains in force as an example of coherence, resistance and loyalty to the principles of social justice, even in the face of criminal blockade, unilateral coercive measures and disinformation campaigns. On the road to the 100th anniversary of Commander Fidel's birth, his historical and moral legacy continues to guide peoples who fight for a just, multipolar international order that respects self-determination.
The peoples of ALBA recognize in the Cuban Revolution a common root of their struggles, where Bolívar, Martí, Sandino and Chávez converge, and confirm their unwavering commitment to solidarity with the brother people and the government of Cuba.
