The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) celebrate the exclusion of Cuba from the list of States that supposedly sponsor terrorism, where it should never have been, as well as the elimination of two other unilateral coercive measures by the U.S. government, this Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Despite its limited nature, the Bolivarian Alliance welcomes this decision, which goes in the right direction and in line with the sustained and firm demand of Cuba and numerous international actors, while at the same time it favors the Cuban nation on its sovereign path of development.
The Cuban Revolution has demonstrated its firm commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, so incorporating and keeping Cuba on the above-mentioned list always constituted an arbitrary and politically motivated decision of the U.S. government, as an additional tool to deepen the illegal economic blockade against the Island.
The ALBA-TCP countries celebrate this victorious step and hope that this will be the first step in the total lifting of the genocidal and illegal policy of economic war against Cuba, which has caused the Cuban people for more than six decades of unjustified suffering and pain.
