After being decorated by President Nicolás Maduro with the Francisco de Miranda Order, in his First Class, the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera, reaffirmed the unbreakable brotherhood between Caracas and Havana.

“First of all, I want in my name and in the name of María Isabel, my wife, to sincerely thank you (President Maduro), Cilia and all your government team for the invaluable support during our 6-year tenure in this beautiful and courageous Venezuela,” said the Cuban diplomat from the Miraflores Palace.

Rodríguez praised Venezuela for having “successfully faced all kinds of aggressions from the most powerful and nefarious empire that humanity has ever known”, referring to the United States (USA), which has attacked the Bolivarian nation in multiple ways, from the “criminal and inhumane economic war” and the “aberrant magnicidal plans”, to the discrediting campaigns and the current military threat.

Rodríguez stressed that during his six-year administration he found in the Venezuelan Government and People a disposition forged in “a common history and a culture that distinguishes us”, and so he ratified the island's historic commitment and unrestricted solidarity with Venezuela.

“Comrade President Maduro, I conclude by affirming without hesitation that, despite the challenges currently facing Cuba, you and the Venezuelan people today and always can count on Cubans, as millions of our citizens have expressed with your signature in recent days,” he said.
