AN active preliminary commission to appoint new inspector general of courts

The plenary of the National Assembly agreed to activate the corresponding mechanisms to appoint the new inspector general of courts, following the resignation of Gladys Requena, who held the position.

During the extraordinary session convened for this Wednesday, the president of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez, instructed, in accordance with the provisions of our legal system, the formation of the Preliminary Commission that will appoint the Judicial Nominations Committee, for the appointment of such an important official.

This newly constituted legislative body will be coordinated by the deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello. It will also be composed of deputies Desiree Santos Amaral, Rosa León, José Villarroel, María Gabriela Vega, Fernando Bastidas, Francisco Torrealba, José Gregorio Correa, Timoteo Zambrano, Luis Parra and Alfonso Campos.
