The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday, February 18, in the first discussion of the Bill Approving the Framework Agreement for Agricultural Cooperation, adopted at the XXIV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
In the regular session, the bill was presented by Deputy Roy Daza, who highlighted the importance of Latin American integration for the added value it brings to the economies of ALBA-TCP countries that practice cooperation and exchange, complementarity and mutual benefit.
“The ideas formulated in the framework project contemplate productive and equitable development, which in turn has the axes of technical cooperation, production and productivity, the diversification of our agriculture, agri-food trade between countries and the promotion of investments. State, private and multi-country investments acting together with actions aimed at lifting agriculture in our countries,” he emphasized.
He asserted that the members of the regional bloc committed themselves to working against social inequalities, complementarity, mutual benefit and solidarity, as an axis of action promoted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro and members of the ALBA-TCP.
Among the ideas expressed in the document, productive development, investment promotion and diversification in agri-food trade between countries stand out.
This agreement was presented last February 3rd by President Maduro during the videoconference meeting of the countries that make up the ALBA-TCP, where he highlighted the importance of consolidating the AgroAlba theme, to advance and consolidate advanced concepts in agriculture, guaranteeing the production and export of organic foods, as opposed to those produced through transgenic seeds and agrochemical pesticides.
In this sense, they will hold the 1st Agroalba Fair 2025, an event that is held for the exchange of productive experiences, investments and other topics.
