AN approved in the first discussion the Bill on Commands for the Integral Defense of the Nation

In an extraordinary session this Friday, the National Assembly (AN) approved in its first discussion the Bill on Commands for the Integral Defense of the Nation.

The project was presented by Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello, who stated that the legislative proposal seeks to strengthen the command and control system of the National Defense, guaranteeing an operational structure that allows harmonious coordination between the different levels of the national apparatus, from strategic leadership to territorial bases.

In this regard, he noted that this legal instrument seeks to consolidate the State's capacity to respond to internal and external threats, in accordance with the constitutional principles of sovereignty and self-determination.

Alessandrello highlighted the historic nature of the debate and urged his parliamentary colleagues to firmly assume the patriotic commitment required by the current situation. “In the face of defending the homeland, there are no sides or colors. The defense of the homeland is the foundation where everything else can happen,” he said.

He emphasized that the legislative precinct, witness to important events in the country's history, must be a scene of unity and determination. “Today, colleague and fellow member of parliament, let's send a clear message from here to the whole world: let's show that Venezuelans and Venezuelans are united as one in the defense of the homeland. Long live the fatherland!” , concluded.
