AN installed Venezuela-Serbia parliamentary friendship group

In order to consolidate a solid link between the parliamentarians of both countries, as well as to promote communication, dialogue and the exchange of legislative information, the National Assembly (AN) installed the Venezuela-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group, this Tuesday from the Federal Legislative Palace.

The president of the group, deputy Roque Valero, explained that another objective of this body is the promotion of cooperation in aspects of common interest, the promotion of sovereignty, national independence and the self-determination of peoples.

He added that these parliamentary friendship groups also seek the defense of participatory and leading democracy, friendship, solidarity, complementarity, respect for public international law and human rights.

Valero, according to a press release from the Legislative Branch, stressed that both Venezuela and Serbia must continue working to strengthen bilateral relations in each area, and strengthen tools to counteract external threats; in this way, continue to advance in the construction of a multicentric and multipolar world that guarantees the survival of the human species.

For her part, the Serbian ambassador to Venezuela, Katarina Andrić, thanked the installation of the group, and at the same time expressed her desire to contribute to the development of relations and contact between the two parliaments.

Andrić said that there is an interest in Serbia in developing and encouraging commitment and struggle for a world of peace, where all countries and peoples consider themselves equal.
