The deputies to the National Assembly (AN) approved, this Wednesday, an agreement in repudiation of the extravagant statements made by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in which he intends to steal oil, land and minerals from Venezuela.
The agreement was presented by Congresswoman Tania Díaz, who assured that the current security strategy of the United States is driven by the Monroe Doctrine, in which, among other things, she seeks ways out of the crisis designed for years to steal the resources of nations, causing a war.
In this regard, the parliamentarian warned of an alleged reconfiguration of the world that is based on the power of the financial military leadership whose mode of survival is war to try to solve the structural crisis of capitalism, without limiting its voracity, and implanting a new imperial and colonial format: “military interventionism backed by the anti-democratic organs of the United Nations and justified on the basis of prefabricated lies”.
In addition, the agreement included a proposal made by the opposition sector in the National Parliament, which requested an expanded meeting of the Council for Sovereignty and Peace to coordinate actions in the face of this escalation of the Trump Administration against Venezuela.
It was also proposed to issue an urgent call from the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to promote a common strategy to guarantee peace.
