For the 2026 legislative period, the National Assembly will work on the development of 29 laws that will contribute to strengthening the Venezuelan legal system, said the president of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez.

During the installation of the advisory commission of the National Assembly, Rodríguez explained that of these legal instruments, 12 were proposed by the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

In this regard, he stressed that among one of the legal instruments that will be worked on is the law on expediting procedures, which, as he highlighted, is not fulfilling its purpose. In addition, he indicated that the Executive is also asking for amendments to the Mining Act, the Export Committee Act, the Intellectual Property Act, the Artificial Intelligence Act, the Cybersecurity Act, the Telecommunications Act, and others.

“One of the laws that we are going to work on is the Law of Peace and National Coexistence, to create a true mushroom of protection, a dome that protects the peace of Venezuela and the right that Venezuelans have to live in peace, especially after the recent experience that led to the unimaginable, to an air strike against Caracas and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady, Cilia Flores,” he stressed.

He also emphasized that the parliamentary bloc of La Patria will work hard during this legislative period to achieve the rescue of President Maduro and his first female combatant.

“We have work and we must do it. We are obliged to collaborate in maintaining the peace of the Republic, we are obliged to collaborate in the construction of a strong economy, an economy that is free of vicissitudes and obstacles. We are obliged to build prosperity for each and every one,” he said.
