The recent hostile actions taken by the United States against Venezuela constitute a flagrant violation of the international legal framework, said analyst Francisco Rodríguez during his speech on the program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
Rodríguez indicated that these measures respond to a strategy aimed at controlling the country's natural resources, in particular those related to the energy and mining sector.
He warned that such maneuvers threaten State sovereignty and the principle of self-determination, creating instability in the region and contradicting the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The expert also rejected the use of the term “war against drug trafficking” as a justification for intervening in internal affairs and denounced the creation of narratives such as the so-called Cartel of the Suns, which, according to him, distort reality and harm the fundamental rights of nations.
Faced with this scenario, he stressed that Venezuela defends a model based on international legality, non-interference and respect between States, and valued the country's active participation in forums such as the Group of Friends of the United Nations Charter and the G77+China.
“From all fronts, we promote diplomacy centered on peoples, with a vocation for understanding and cooperation,” he concluded.
