Ángel Rodríguez wins two silver medals for Venezuela in weightlifting in Central Americans

Venezuelan weightlifter Ángel Rodríguez had an outstanding participation in the weightlifting discipline at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, winning two silver medals in the 88-kilogram category.

Rodríguez demonstrated strength on the lifting platform by registering in the Startup mode with a valid lift of 169 kg and in the Envión 203 kg mode, for a total of 372 kg accumulated.

In Arranque, the Colombian Yeison López won the gold medal with 182 kg and the bronze medal went to the representative of Nicaragua, Norwin Washington with 161 kg.

The Envión podium was completed by the Colombian López with 204 kg (gold) and the Mexican Mauricio Canul with 161 kg (pla ta).
