The Anti-Fascist International, Argentine chapter, issued a statement this Friday, January 3rd, to express its repudiation of the visit of the fugitive from Venezuelan justice, Edmundo González Urrutia, who this Saturday will hold a meeting with the far-right Javier Milei.
Below is the full text of the statement:
Communiqué of the Anti-Fascist International, Argentine chapter
On January 10, in the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro Moros will take office, who in the general elections of 2024 was ratified by the Venezuelan people for a new Bolivarian and democratic presidential cycle.
The opponent Edmundo González Urrutia, former presidential candidate, who claims victory over President Maduro in European forums, will visit Buenos Aires on Saturday , January 4. He will be received by President Javier Milei. He made his position public and declared that he was unaware of President Maduro's victory. In addition, he is responsible for sending sister Republic to gendarme Nahuel Gallo in a police action that has not yet been clarified by the libertarian government.
González Urrutia worked in the 1980s at the Venezuelan Embassy in El Salvador and under the command of the then ambassador, Leopoldo Castillo, he was involved in the organization of the obscure “death squads”. He currently operates as an errand boy for María Corina Machado and is part of a corporation of fascist and neofascist forces. After the elections that took place last July 28, he left Venezuelan territory. At the headquarters of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, he stated that, by January 10, he expects the “beginning of a new era” and that he intends to return to the country. That statement has all the appearance of a coup testimony.
The Anti-Fascist International, the Argentine chapter, repudiates the visit of Edmundo González Urrutia and calls for a Bolivarian and democratic rally at the Simon Bolivar Monument, located in Rivadavia Park, at 17:00 on Saturday, January 4.
