The single authority of the Integrated System for Risk Management and Management of Civil Emergencies and Disasters of the state of Anzoátegui (SIGRAED), Colonel Jesús Varela, reported that this Friday, October 10, the closure of beaches in the municipalities of Urbaneja, Sotillo, Guanta and Peñalver continues.

He explained that although the strong waves and currents returning through the bottom sea decreased, maritime conditions are still adverse due to the effects of storm Jerry associated with the passage of Tropical Waves 41 and 42, which have generated heavy rains and thunderstorms in the northeastern region.

The restriction on spas could be extended for 24 more hours, he said, adding that this Saturday, October 11, the conditions of these recreational spaces will be evaluated.

He also noted that permanent tours are maintained in the spas to prevent incidents and urged the population not to enter the sea and to keep informed through official channels.

Varela highlighted that due to the rainfall, early this Friday morning, the 10th, rocky material and sand fell on the Argimiro Gabaldón alternate road, which was removed, without damage of any kind.

For his part, the mayor of Urbaneja, Manuel Ferreira, announced via social networks that the measure to close Lido Beach is extended until Monday, October 13.

He explained that this weekend, after the damage, maintenance will be carried out at the spa, including the use of heavy machinery.
