The former president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (CFK) made official her candidacy for the presidency of the Justicialist Party, the institutional body of Peronism, whose internal elections will be held on November 17, in a scenario marked by anarchy after the resignation of former president Alberto Fernández.

“I am willing, once again, to accept the challenge of debating in unity,” reads the text, in which it states that the challenge of Peronism is to “straighten out what was twisted and order what was disordered,” Fernández wrote.

The reaction comes after requests from the closest political circles, whom the former president thanked for their expressions of affection and messages of support. “I have never occupied a place without being sure that I am capable of the task assigned,” said the former president.

“Today Peronism governs only 5 of the 23 Argentine provinces and lost the majority in the Senate; this being a situation of loss of institutional representation unprecedented in the democratic period,” he stressed.
