A group of deputies from various opposition blocs in Argentina has formally requested a special session for May 14. The main objective is to question the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, in the face of alleged irregularities in the management of public funds.

This initiative seeks to hold the civil servant to account for his financial situation, the use of State assets and his recent trips abroad.

The request comes after the release of revelations from a contractor about costly renovations carried out on private property linked to the official. These accusations have generated a strong reaction in the political framework, motivating groups such as United Provinces, the Civic Coalition and the Left Front to demand immediate explanations. Legislators consider it a priority to clarify whether there was an misuse of state resources for personal purposes.

For the session to take place, the opposition faces the logistical challenge of achieving the necessary quorum of 129 votes. Although the Union for the Fatherland block did not initially sign the project, it has already confirmed that its members will attend the venue. This support is key to the viability of the day, although the block plans to propose an extension of the agenda to include social problems on the daily agenda.

If the session were to take place, it would represent one of the most direct political challenges for the current Chief of Staff. The parliamentary debate will focus on administrative transparency and ethics in the public service at a time of high political tension.

The next few hours will be decisive in defining if the ruling party succeeds in blocking the initiative or if Adorni will have to appear before Congress.
