Arreaza lashes the Spanish monarchy: Not a single gesture of humility and forgiveness in 532 years

The general secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza, condemned the attitude of the Spanish monarchy that celebrates October 12 instead of asking for forgiveness from an entire continent that was massacred during the colonial era.

“Spain celebrates its national day. If that is not an affront against the original peoples of Our Latin and Caribbean America, I cannot say what else it is. Not a single gesture of humility and forgiveness in 532 years,” Arreaza emphasized through his Telegram channel.

He stressed that out of mere respect for humanity, new Spanish generations should change the date of their national holiday.

“For us it is and will be the Day of Indigenous Resistance. A day of dignity and respect for our peoples,” he stressed.
