The Red Art Foundation initiated a registration and recognition plan that
will cover 13 states of the country between August and October, with the purpose of
making visible the work of Venezuelan artisans and artisans and preserving knowledge linked to traditional crafts.
The program includes three stages: during August, the
faces of the creators will be documented; in September, their working techniques will be recorded
and in October, information will be collected on the different craft crafts.
The day began this August 12 in Nueva Esparta and Falcón, with
demonstrations of cover carving and leather goods by the cultivators Manuel Arismendi and Víctor Hernández.
Later, the route will reach Apure,
Barinas, Carabobo and Delta Amacuro, where weavers, goldsmiths, luthiers, ceramists and wristbands will join.
The president of the Art Network, Aracelis García, said that the initiative is part of the Training Plan for Artisans and Artisans, aimed at recognizing creators as protagonists of their territories and repositories of traditional knowledge.
