The Artisan Heart Movement held a discussion on Craft Legislation with the participation of creators from the Miranda, Carirubana and Monsignor Iturriza municipalities of Falcón state, with the purpose of encouraging dialogue, consolidating the organization of the sector and strengthening the artisanal profession in the region.

The day, which took place at the facilities of the National Institute for Tourism Promotion and Training (INATUR), was guided by artisans William Escalona, Rafael Quero and Jesús Méndez, who presented fundamental aspects of the Law for Development and Craft Creation.

In this regard, Escalona stressed that this regulation seeks to “promote the sustainable development of crafts and recognize them as a public interest and part of the Venezuelan cultural identity.”

Also, during the meeting, the advances achieved by the sector at the national, regional and municipal levels were highlighted, as part of the public policies promoted by the Venezuelan State.

In addition, the speakers emphasized the importance of these achievements as a basis for consolidating new institutional and community strengthening strategies.

“Without a doubt, this meeting will serve to promote organization, unify the commitment of craft councils and strengthen training in each territory,” said Rafael Quero.

The discussion allowed attendees to exchange experiences, identify common challenges and establish agreements for the articulation of artisanal councils in each territory.
