Venezuelan wrestler Astrid Montero became three-time champion in the Olympic Beach Wrestling World Series, held in the Croatian city of Porêc.
This is the third consecutive gold medal for Montero in the Olympic Beach Wrestling World Series, after doing the same in Argentina 2022 and Mexico 2023.
The Venezuelan woman in the final faced the Ukrainian Oksana Herhell, whom she beat 3 points to 0, to win the three-time championship of the Olympic Beach Wrestling World Series.
Montero left the Ukrainian Elena Nikitnska, the French Lehia Odale and the Hungarian Viktoria Felho on the road. He beat the Slovenian Sara Trbuliu by 3 points to 0 and the North American Olivia Hacen, in a close fight that culminated 1 point to 0 to enter the grand final, Prensa MinDeporte reviews.
The Venezuelan became the only Olympic wrestler in America to win the three-time championship in the history of the World Series of Olympic Beach Wrestling.
