At least seven people died as a result of a hurricane in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo

Brazilian Civil Defense authorities reported that at least 7 people died and about 1.4 million people were affected without electricity due to the passage of a hurricane in the state of Sao Paulo.

According to the report submitted by the authorities, two people died from falling trees and another five from the collapse of a wall.

Regarding the electricity problem, they indicated that “technicians are working to rebuild damaged sections of the power grid and restore service to about 1.45 million affected customers, representing about 18% of the distribution company's customers.”

The service supply will be restored this Monday, October 14. Authorities recorded that the hurricane that hit the state of Sao Paulo was the strongest in 29 years, according to the TASS news agency.
