Starting this Monday, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela opened the Apostille Appointment Service Office at the country's Consulate in
Bucaramanga, capital of the department of Santander, in Colombia, to provide
this service to compatriots residing in the city of New Granada and in nearby towns.
The Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs,
through its account on the social network Instagram, stressed that the inauguration
of this office is aimed at providing direct and more expeditious attention to
Venezuelans, as well as improving response times and preventing them from being
victims of unscrupulous managers who charge high prices for this procedure.
The apostille, which must be registered in the Foreign Ministry's
database to be valid and have legal effect in another country that is
a member of the 1961 Hague Convention, certifies the authenticity of the
signature of public servants in the exercise of their functions and the quality in which they have acted.
The Consulate in Bucaramanga was inaugurated last
September 30, in Carrera 32, # 49-92, Old Country Neighborhood, behind the Union
Club, this service for answering appointments and apostolic appointments will be added to the traditional
procedures that can be managed in these offices, such as renewing the passport and issuing visas.
