Authorities alert to heavy rains in Barinas

Security and rescue forces remain alert to landslides, river overflows and streams, and floods were reported in the Bolívar municipality of Barinas state after the rainfall recorded this Saturday.
The most affected areas were the hamlets of the town of Calderas, where the increase in river flow not only generated alarm among the inhabitants; but also the water flooded several houses in the Vega del Puente and La Laguna areas.
In addition, the Barinas-Mérida highway is collapsed due to landslides, which caused the total closure of the passage through Local 001, as for Altamira de Cáceres and Calderas, the regional press said.
