Authorities report magnitude 6.4 earthquake in Chile

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a magnitude 6.4 earthquake this Friday, 41 kilometers southeast of Curicó, Maule region, in the central part of Chile, the Telesur website reported.
The National Seismological Center of the University of Chile reported that the earthquake occurred at 20:38 local time (23.38 GMT).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 110.6 kilometers. So far, no possible casualties or injuries have been reported.
People reported perceptibility in the capital, Santiago, located almost 200 kilometers north of the epicenter.
Chile is located in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, so it is a region with high seismic and volcanic activity, and every year it records thousands of earthquakes.
