On February 6, 1945 in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, was born Robert Nesta Marley better known as Bob Marley, considered one of the most influential musicians of all time. His contribution to his country, to the genre of music that we all know today as Reggae and to the spread of Rasta culture is immense.

Marley dedicated much of his music to the theme of the fight against political and racial oppression and to the invitation to unify Colored Peoples as the only way to achieve freedom and equality.

Marley's greatest hits include I Shot the Sheriff; No Woman, No Cry; Jamming and Redemption Song. His music, with a social content, is full of messages of justice and defense of the oppressed and abused.
