The National Government has initiated the reactivation of the Francisco Lazo Martí agro-industrial complex, located in the state of Guárico, as part of actions aimed at expanding rice processing capacity in the country.
The measure was announced by the Minister of Industry and National Production, Alex Saab, who also chairs the International Center for Productive Investments (CIIP). The plan foresees the recovery of infrastructures, the updating of operating systems and the reintegration of land into the agricultural cycle.
The execution of the project will be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Productive Agriculture and Lands. Farmers' associations, cooperatives and companies linked to the primary sector will participate in the process.
The resumption of activities will make it possible to mobilize technical and human resources in the region, which will have an impact on the processing of cereals and the creation of employment. The facility, which was inactive, will be reintegrated into the national supply network.
This action is part of the Industrial and Productive Relaunch Plan promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, which coordinates efforts between state institutions and economic actors to strengthen domestic production.
