The Bolivarian Government is continuing the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Rio Guárico Irrigation System, located in the Francisco de Miranda municipality, with work being carried out to ensure the operation of the system for the next North-Summer 2025-2026 planting cycle.

Rehabilitation work is carried out in a timely manner and includes welding gates, emptying tiles and cleaning, actions that seek to make the system fully available to local producers, ensuring a stable water supply.

The Rio Guárico Irrigation System is a key element for food sovereignty in the area, it is an extensive network of 210 concrete and earth channels that extends for more than 208 kilometers, its vital function is to transport water from the Guárico dam directly to the plots, guaranteeing the fundamental element for the cultivation of rice and other items, according to a press release from the Government of the entity.
