The Táchira Civil Protection team deployed response actions in towns in the Torbes municipality, after the heavy rains recorded on Tuesday, June 24. In response to contingencies, the local Risk Management committee was launched to coordinate work in committed sectors, through inspections at previously identified points.

According to what was published by the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) website, La Palmita treated the fall of vegetation, which reduced part of vehicle access. Although it was possible to clear a portion of the passage, the entry of machinery is required to remove accumulations on the road. Likewise, in Los Ruices and Santa Lucía, land displacements were evident, affecting traffic in Troncal 05 and in internal sections of the community.

On the other hand, through social networks, the agency reported an increase in the level of the Torbes River at the height of the San Francisco neighborhood, in San Cristóbal, exceeding the records defined in monitoring instruments. Faced with this situation, community members and Civil Protection personnel remain present on the riverbank to make observations and act if necessary.
