The Bolivarian Government delivered 25 new hemodialysis machines to the Portuguese state to renew and expand the operational capacity of 3 of the entity's 4 units, in which patients with chronic renal failure receive replacement treatment.
The single health authority in the region, Carlos Majano, reported that the funding comes from the national government and comes to strengthen the quality of care for hundreds of patients who rely on dialysis to improve their quality of life.
Of all the machines, 14 are incorporated into the La Coromotana Hemodialysis Unit in Guanare; 9 to the Seneca Hemodialysis Center in Acarigua, and 2 to the Acarigua-Araure Hospital, which currently has 12 operating machines.
Majano specified that the equipment will guarantee “safer, more efficient treatments with the quality standards required by our renal patients”, in addition to optimizing care cycles and significantly reducing waiting times.
The governor of the entity, Primitivo Cedeño, said that 10 more hemodialysis machines have yet to arrive in Portuguesa and will be incorporated into the nephrology service of the Guanare Hospital, an area that is expected to be addressed with the plan for the recovery, expansion and construction of health infrastructure.
