The Bolivarian Government provided funding for projects to rehabilitate agricultural roads and distribute the drinking water network to more than 3,300 members of the Kariña indigenous people.
The delivery was made by the Ministry of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples as part of the plans selected in the Second National Popular Consultation 2024.
In addition, funding certificates were awarded for the La Unión de San Pedrito Indigenous Agrotourism Commune, which has four communal councils. This will benefit the indigenous communities of El Alto de San Pedrito, El Naranjo, Santa Catalina, La Medianía, La Florida, San Pedrito and Las Charas.
In addition, the same type of documentation and benefit was provided to the La Franja del Turimiquire Indigenous Agroproductive Commune, which includes 10 communal councils, and integrates the indigenous communities of Maturincito, Zurita, San Pedro, Cambural and Vega Grande, according to a press release from the Government of Sucre.
This effort responds to the commitment of the National Government to help the most vulnerable communities, in compliance with the guidelines of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the governor of the state of Sucre, Gilberto Pinto.
