President in Charge honors rescuers from the United Kingdom, Qatar, France, India, Barbados, Brazil and Argentina

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, awarded this Saturday the “Heroes of Venezuela Medal” award to the members of seven international search and rescue delegations that were deployed in the country.

The official event was held with the purpose of paying tribute and expressing the deep gratitude of the national Government to the foreign brigades that provided immediate support to the population, following the seismic contingencies recorded on June 24.

The rescue teams were formally recognized for their outstanding humanitarian work in the national territory, most notably the Federative Republic of Brazil group with 188 rescuers and 5 canines, followed by the State of Qatar, which mobilized 161 rescuers and 2 canines.

In addition, the delegation of the Argentine Republic, made up of 143 rescuers and 9 canines, and the French Republic, which provided a total of 87 rescuers and 7 canine units to the complex rescue work in the affected areas, were awarded.

The award of the institutional distinction also included technical staff from the United Kingdom, who attended with 69 rescuers and 6 canines, in close coordination with the Republic of India, which deployed 46 rescuers and the Barbadian delegation comprised of 22 rescuers.

These international contingents added highly specialized and logistical capacities in the perimeters with the greatest geological impact, working continuously with local security and civil protection forces.

This recognition from the National Executive highlights the importance of solidarity and international cooperation in times of humanitarian crisis for the nation. The Venezuelan authorities emphasized that the courageous effort and detachment demonstrated by the men, women and canine binomials of these seven nations left a mark of deep gratitude on the people, consolidating bridges of mutual aid to guarantee the protection of human life in the face of this type of natural disaster.
