Bolivarian Government inaugurated Los Algodones chlorination station in Nueva Esparta

The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Water Care (MINAGUAS), inaugurated the Los Algodones chlorination plant, located in the Punta de Mangle sector of the Tubores municipality in the state of Nueva Esparta, which produces 1,500 liters per second of drinking water (LPS).
With the modernization of this important work, which included the replacement of two completely new 30 Hp pumping equipment, as well as the replacement of the entire chlorine gas dosing system and the construction of civil works in different areas, the reliability of the water system will be reinforced. In addition, the electronic conditioning of the Los Algodones chlorination plant included the installation of a 3×25 KVA transformer bank.
“This large project serves 70% of the population of Nueva Esparta. Here we are complying with the instructions of President Nicolás Maduro, bringing water to our people to generate a higher quality of life,” said the head of the water portfolio, Minister Rodolfo Marco Torres, quoted by a press release from the government agency.
In this regard, he mentioned that seven high-impact works are currently being carried out, including the activation of desalination plants, the Porlamar 1 tank with a capacity for 30 million liters of water, the El Espinal, La Aguada and La Asunción drinking water pumping stations. In addition, the Moscow (Brisas de los Ángeles) and La Guardia sewage pumping stations.
