Bolivarian Government installed technical table to promote national production in the textile industry

The Ministry of Popular Power of Industries and National Production (MPPIPN), led the installation of a technical panel with the country's textile sector, with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of National Trade, Economy and Finance, and Productive Agriculture and Lands, together with the main companies of the textile conglomerate.
On its website, the MPPIPN, points out that one of the main objectives of this instance is to know the realities of the area in order to provide solutions to existing critical nodes.
It also seeks to promote small and medium-sized industries (SMEs) and new forms of association, to help build a solid base in the sector.
During the meeting, they proposed the implementation of new strategies to replace imports and promote investment in the agro-industrial sector. In this regard, the MPPIPN is preparing a set of actions to advance these objectives.
In this way, it seeks to guarantee the sustainability and potential of the textile and clothing industry in Venezuela.
In addition, the link between public, private and mixed companies dedicated to the production of fibers, yarns and fabrics will be promoted. This will allow a gradual increase in its commercialization, with a view to the export of quality products to other markets.
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recently instructed the Minister of Industries and National Production and president of the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP), Alex Saab, to make new investments in non-oil sectors, the promotion of a national plan for import substitution and the production of quality goods for export purposes.
At the meeting, the process of forming the committees that were created to advance the objectives established by area of work also began: Training, Public Services, Primary Production, Tariffs, Quality, National Purchasing and Financing and Technological Update.
Additionally, in a request reiterated by several of the attendees, the participants expressed the importance of involving decisive entities for the proper functioning of the sector, such as representatives of the electricity sector (Ministry of Electric Energy), the environmental sector (Ministry of Ecosocialism), as well as the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES) and Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) (Supply Trade Management).
The meeting was led by the Deputy Minister of Small and Medium Industry and New Associative Forms, Roigar López; together with representatives of the National Land Institute (INT), the Exchange of Agricultural Products and Supplies, the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), Sencamer, Inapymi, Algodones del Orinoco, Conglomerado Productivo, Telares Maracay, among others .
