The Minister of Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, and other aeronautical authorities met with representatives of national and international airlines operating in Venezuela, with the objective of coordinating actions to ensure the continuity and normality of air transport in the country.
The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), had as its central objective to generate trust and security in operations by air service providers to passengers, in the international context and the recent notification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), of the North American government against Venezuela.
Orlan Viloria, president of Laser Airlines, was emphatic in declaring that air operations are proceeding normally: “What we want to convey is trust, everything is operating normally,” according to a press release from the Ministry of Transport.
Viloria also emphasized that Laser Airlines expects to return to normal flights to Bogotá, Curaçao and Madrid this Thursday.
For his part, Boris Serrano, president of Estelar, confirmed that the airline continues to operate without problems, with a flight to Panama scheduled for this Tuesday and the rescheduling of another one to Madrid soon.
Meanwhile, the LATAM Airlines group, represented by Gamal Kabchi, appreciated the opportunity to be heard by the National Government and assured that all airlines are monitoring the situation and looking for solutions for the continuity of air transport.
