In a historic milestone for
clean energy generation in Venezuela, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, the governor of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, held a meeting with the technical commission made up of engineers and representatives of
the Chinese company Grain Full, together
with the state team of CORPOELEC and the team sent by Minister
Jorge Eliécer Márquez to begin operations for the construction of what will be
the largest solar park in the country.
This ambitious project, promoted by the Bolivarian Government and executed within the framework of the China-Venezuela agreement,
will be carried out at the facilities of the Don Luis
Zambrano Power Plant, located in the Alberto Adriani municipality.
With an area of more than 60 hectares and the
installation of 94,000 solar panels, this solar park will have a generation capacity
of more than 50 megawatts, making it a
national benchmark in the production of clean energy.
The project not only represents a significant advance
in the energy matrix of the state of Mérida, but it will also contribute
to diversifying the national economy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels
. In the first phase, the energy generated will be allocated
mainly to the city of El Vigía and its surroundings, improving the quality
of life of its inhabitants and strengthening the regional electricity system.
The governor stressed that this achievement is the result
of a strategic vision that seeks to transform Mérida into a
pioneering state in the generation of clean energy. “With this project, we are
taking a firm step towards a more sustainable future and diversifying our energy
matrix. In addition, we are creating opportunities for
economic and social development for our region,” he said.
The Chinese company Grain Full, in alliance
with CORPOELEC, will be responsible for executing this megaproject, which
joins other efforts of the national and regional government to promote the
development of renewable energy in Venezuela.
