Bolivarian Government promotes cotton planting to strengthen the textile industry

The initiative seeks to consolidate industrial links with state companies in the production of fibers, yarns and fabrics

The Minister of Popular Power for Industries and National Production and president of the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP), Alex Saab, held a meeting with representatives of the Venezuelan textile sector, in order to establish strategies to boost textile production and replace the import of inputs linked to the industry.

In the account of the social network Instragram, of the aforementioned Ministry, he points out that the meeting had as its primary objective to guarantee the sustainability and potential of the textile and clothing industry in Venezuela.

In this regard, it was agreed to implement various strategies aimed at encouraging investment in agro-industrial plans, specifically in the planting of cotton, to boost the production of raw materials and replace the import of threads and other inputs.

The initiative seeks to consolidate the industrial chain with state companies in the production of fibers, yarns and fabrics, which will increase the commercialization and sales of high quality products for the Venezuelan people.

It reports that work tables were installed, in compliance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, aimed at implementing the Import Substitution Plan and strengthening Venezuelan production.

These actions are intended to position Venezuela as a key player in this sector in strategic markets and guarantee the international commercialization of products made in the country; in addition to encouraging exports and the generation of foreign exchange.
