A total of 100 seahorses were raised in Nueva Esparta to promote the conservation and protection of species. This was announced by the Ombudsman's Office, who explained that the day was held in the Laguna de La Restinga park.
The activity, led by the Ombudsman's Office, was a joint action with the National Park Institute (INPARQUES), Misión Árbol and the Marine Species Foundation (FUNDEMAR). With this release in Nueva Esparta for species conservation, Venezuela is taking another step towards environmental protection.
Last December, 900 seahorses were released in the San Esteban Notional Park, located in Carabobo state.
In 2024, a total of 8,000 seahorses were released on different beaches in Venezuela, an action that constitutes a contribution to the fight against the climate crisis and the conservation of ecosystems.
